The NRSWA Operative course is mainly practical, but a small portion of the course involves some theory and written work (deleted). The knowledge test for each unit is done online.

If the candidate has any concerns about completing this online work, they can call and speak to our team. A reassessment test to demonstrate the knowledge and competence for a role is required for every unit due for renewal. For example, if (deleted) units LA, O1, O2, O3 and O6, are coming to their expiration date then 5 reassessment tests will need to be completed in total. Each test involves 20 multiple choice questions and takes 45 minutes to complete for each test. These tests are online tests carried out using an iPad. The candidate will be given instructions on how to use the iPad and our invigilator will be present to give support if needed. All training material will be available to the candidate as it is an open book exam.

If you have any concerns about completing this online work, you can call and speak to our team. If the candidate has a learning difficulty this isn’t a problem, we can let the trainer know before they attend, and we can provide any additional support required to ensure they can access the materials and assessments.

The pass mark is 80% and the test will assess the candidates understanding of the latest health and safety regulations and best practices for working on the highways, as well as their ability to carry out their role safely and effectively. If (deleted)a unit test is failed, the candidate can re-sit it on the same day.

IS THE NRSWA REASSESSMENT OVER 1 DAY OR 2?

We run both a one-day assessment course and two-day refresher course depending on your requirements.

If you book a one-day course, the candidate will just take the assessments only with no refresher training provided. The two-day course consists of a day of refresher training including sitting mock tests and the completion of the assessments on day 2.
